This week I have been focusing on comparing fractions
For comparing fractions we had to list the factors of the denominator and find the lowest common number that appears.
For example...
If I had 3/4 and 2/8
I would list the factors like this
4,8,12,16,20...
8,16,24...
In this I find out that 8 is the lowest common number.
So then I would times the 3/4 by 2 so that I have the same denominator. It would now look like this (6/8)
so now if I look at 6/8 and 2/8 I can easily tell that 6/8 is the bigger number.
